I thought for this weeks PhotoFriday theme, simply being “Inside” wasn’t quite enough. It had to show being inside which also implies that there’s an outside visible. So, here I was in Ireland, sat inside the car, waiting for the rain to subside. I thought that that made this a decent entry.

I’d walked across this square, in the City of London, for weeks before, one evening, I went past at dusk and saw that the pavement was “Glowing,” which, by strange coincidence, is this weeks PhotoFriday theme.

This is about as “Near” — this weeks PhotoFriday theme — as I really want to get to a crocodile. Or alligator. Which ever this one is. It was in a farm, behind a fence, in Vietnam but still looked like a formidable creature.

Cars, this weeks PhotoFriday theme, seem such every-day sights that it’s easy to think that they’re not worth taking pictures of unless it’s something exotic. However, for some reason, I was taking pictures of the local shopping centre, so I have this image of a bunch of cars.

There’s no need to feel guilty for not voting for me in last weeks challenge since I didn’t get the time to post an entry.

I love the curved roof of the British Museum, which is why I thought that this would make a good entry for this weeks PhotoFriday challenge, which is “Curvature.”

I’ve been busy and not had the time to enter the last few PhotoFriday’s, but here I am with an image for the theme “Gold” (always believe in your soul). I have quite a few pictures with bits of gold (you’ve got the power to know) in them, but here, in Kyoto, we have a whole pavilion that’s made of the shiny stuff.

This weeks PhotoFriday theme is “Enormous,” which is kind of a difficult word to get across. A lot of people have just gone for big things or small things at high magnifications. I thought I’d go for a 3.5″ floppy disk, as I remember 1.44Mb being enormous, way more than anyone could reasonably use — and far more than the 100K per side that my BBC Micro managed on its 5.25″ disks. Of course, a single raw image from my 50D would need fourteen of them…

This weeks PhotoFriday, “Seashore,” was pretty straightforward since I only got back from Rhodes, with its famous beaches, a couple of months ago.

As soon as I saw the theme for this weeks challenge, “Gloomy,” I knew which image I needed to use. I took it only a couple of weeks ago on the way to work and is a great representation of the kind of summer we’ve been having so far. Pretty gloomy, eh?

“Sharp Focus” is a surprisingly hard theme to find a good image to represent. A picture that was just sharp wouldn’t look much different from most other pictures. So, ironically, to show something in sharp focus you really need some contrast, namely some background blur. This picture, you can possibly guess, was taken last year at the top of the Eiffel Tower.
